SOUTH EAST ASIA – Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia?

Question by sophia f: SOUTH EAST ASIA - Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia?
I am going to all the above countries. I hope to spend a year in Asia with my boyfriend and was wondering how much we would need for a year moneywise. We stay in cheap hotels and eat resonably cheaply and dont only go to the tourist resorts. We get goverment buses too. We do smoke though and we drink. We are planning to only spend a couple of weeks in malaysia and the rest of the year everywhere else.
Can anyone give us any idea on how much we will need to take?

Among all, malaysia is the best as the political environment is stable, food is good n hygienic, good hotels are also quite reasonable priced. among all, mayb u should spend less time in laos or indonesia (depends on which area u r going). Ive got 3 friends who went to indonesia on 3 separate occasions, all came back with extreme diarrhoea.

You do not say what type of budget you have, but I would recommend Koh Samui or Phuket. Both places will have exactly everything you could possibly want. There are many websites you can search, just type in the places and there will be many suggestions for you to try.Why not try yahoo travel.com and then go from there .The hotels are just simply romantic and the beaches are incredible.the culture is absolutely fasinating.I have just come back from a three months stay in Pattaya which I visit every year for a holiday. It is a most unusual place and I love it but I would not recommend it for a honeymoon unless you want to stay in a 5star hotel on the beach which is quite pricey but than again I do not know your budget. If you would like to contact me via my email through yahoo questions and answers I would only be too glad to give you some information of anywhere in Thailand.I have been visiting Thailand for the past 27 years so I am quite an expert.Good luck with whatever you choose to do and congratulations.

Question by Bethany Z: I'm traveling to Thailand for 10 days in March. Where should I visit? What should I do while I'm there?
I will be traveling with two of my cousins who are also in their 20s. We'd like a mix of outdoor activities and a little relaxation. While we'd prefer to keep our budget under control, we're ok with spending more money if it's worth it. What are some must see places? What beaches/resorts should we visit/stay at? Are there any fun, unique experiences we should know about?
